One time governorship candidate and the convener of the BASA
Foundation, Mrs. Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu, has described Governor Seyi Makinde as
“God’s chosen one” for Oyo State. She made the assertion in a congratulatory
message that followed the ruling of the Supreme Court that the Governor was
validly elected. She also advised the Governor's main opponent, Chief Bayo Adelabu of the All Progressives Congress to put his governorship aspiration in God's hands.
Mrs. Sarumi-Aliyu averred that “the Supreme Court has
effectively demonstrated that indeed, the judiciary is the last hope of the
masses. I commend the apex court for not allowing itself to be used in subverting
the wishes of the people of Oyo State. I also congratulate Governor Seyi
Makinde for making us proud. The effects of his developmental efforts are
already being felt across the state”.
While commending the candidate of the All Progressives Congress,
Chief Adebayo Adelabu for putting up a good fight, she urged him to “leave all
in God’s hands as only God gives power”. The message further read “if you and I
are destined to become Governor of Oyo State, at God’s time, we will get
there”.
Mrs. Sarumi-Aliyu went on to call for greater support for
the Governor as she stated “we all should support the Governor now because Oyo
State and her people deserve the very best. I can assure the people of Oyo
State that Governor Seyi Makinde has what it takes to turn the fortune of the
state around for the better”.
