According to a statement from Chief Bisi Ilaka, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, a directive also went to all Local Government Chairmen, to hand over to their Heads of Local Government Administration (HLA) or the most Senior Directors in their local government areas and councils.
All Boards of Parastatals and corporations were also dissolved.
Governor Makinde also directed that embargo be placed on all Local and State Government accounts until further directives.
It will be recalled that the Chairmen were elected towards the end of the Ajimobi administration as the affairs of the councils were run by Caretaker chairmen.
Sensing that their tenures might end with the swearing in of a new Governor, the Chairmen approached a court to obtain an order restraining the state government from sacking them.
