Police Team Busts 'One-Chance' Robbers Inside Motor Park!

Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three members of a robbery gang that specializes in 'one-chance' robberies, a system that involves robbing passengers and dumping them midway from their destinations. According to the Command's spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the gang was busted in Atan-Ota area of Ado-Odo Ota Local Government area of the State.
"The Suspects; Aisu Anago, 30, Muritala Alubarika, 42 and Noah Joel, 34 were arrested on 28th February 2019 at Atan Motor Park following a report from one Mrs Taye Olotu who alerted policemen on patrol led by the DPO, Atan-Ota Division, SP Abiodun Salau that she boarded a vehicle earlier in the month, going to Idiroko only for her to be robbed by the occupants of the vehicle at the middle of the road before they pushed her out of the said vehicle", Oyeyemi disclosed in a statement. 
He also revealed that the woman was going to board a vehicle when she saw those who robbed her calling out  for passengers to board the same vehicle in which she was robbed.
Oyeyemi also stated that "based on her report, the patrol team quickly followed her to the motor park,  where the three suspects were promptly arrested along with the vehicle. A search was conducted on them and a cutlass and a rope which they always use to tie their victims  before dispossessing them of their properties were recovered.
On interrogation, they made confessional statements that their mode of operation is for one of them to act as the driver of the car, while the two others will pretend to be passengers already in the car and they will sit in such a a way that will see their victim sandwiched between them".
Oyeyemi confirmed that the suspects also revealed that "once they get to an isolated area, one of them would bring out the  cutlass and the other one would use the rope to tie the hands of the victim to make it easy for them to search and dispossess such person of whatever valuables are with him or her.
They admitted being the gang that robbed the complainant of the sum of N 100,000 earlier in the month".
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Special Anti-Robbery  Squad for discrete investigation.
