Man Hacks 99-Year-Old Aunt To Death Over Failed Lotto Tickets

29-year-old Owolabi Folorunso Adewale has become a guest of the Ogun State Police Command, following his  arrest on Monday, 4th March for culpable homicide.

The Command's spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed in a statement that "the arrest of the suspect followed a distress call received by the DPO, Ago-Iwoye Division, CSP Ade Adedoyin  that a middle aged man has butchered his aunt, Ebunola Aroboto to death at Maraisa Lane, Igan Road, Ago-Iwoye".
He also stated that "on receiving the distress call,  the DPO quickly led his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested and the murder weapon was also recovered.
On interrogation,  the suspect admitted killing the 99-year-old woman with a machete claiming that he has an inclination that the woman was responsible for most of his spiritual problems". The police spokesman also revealed that "the suspect confirmed that he is a regular player of Baba Ijebu Lotto and that whenever he is sure of wining,  the deceased who was his father's elder sister will use her supernatural power to change the wining number". 
While the body of the deceased has been deposited at Ijebu Ode General Hospital mortuary for post mortem examination, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal investigation and intelligence Department, DCP Wale Abass to take over the case and ensure diligent prosecution of the suspect.
