'APC Has Commissioned Miscreants to Deface Our Billboards', Seyi Makinde Alleges

The ruling party, All Progressives Congress, has been accused of commissioning miscreants and relevant government agencies to deface billboards and posters belonging to Engr Seyi Makinde, the governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party.

Engr. Makinde's campaign organisation raised the alarm in a press statement signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade citing specific areas like  new  Gbagi Market and Airport Road in Ibadan,   Idere in Ibarapa Central and other areas in Oke Ogun.
According to the press release, "the fear of Engr Makinde's popularity and acceptance among critical segments of the populace appears to be the driving force behind these undemocratic and desperate actions but this is already having a backlash from the people who perceive it as misuse of naked power".
Makinde advised government agencies not to heed the instructions to frustrate the allocation of billboards spaces to the campaign organisation because it will be difficult to stop the on going wind of change which the people have come to accept.
He adivsed that professionalism and non-partisanship should be the hallmark of any civil servant and urged the people to 'remain vigilant as the ruling party is ready to make up for its political shortfall by using undemocratic methods to cling to power'.
