Ogun Police Arrest Man, 29, For Defiling 13-Year-Old Girl


The Ogun State Police Command, on Sunday, announced the arrest of a 29-year old man, Soji Ogunrinola a.k.a 'Bulldozer' for defiling a 13-year-old girl.
The Command's spokesman, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed that "Bulldozer's arrest followed a complaint by one Monsuru Badmus of Ogiri Ojule Village in Odeda Local Government Area of the state who is the stepfather of the victim."
The Police PRO also stated that "he reported at Odeda Police Station that the suspect forcefully had carnal knowledge of the the girl who came to spend her holiday in the village.

The complainant stated further that the suspect threatened to kill the little girl if she ever told anybody what  transpired between them but the mother of the girl noticed blood stains on her clothes which made her to question her daughter on what she noticed".
Oyeyemi also confirmed that "the victim explained the whole thing to her mother and the threat of the suspect on her life. The mother who knows the suspect to be a thug in the village alerted her husband and the man quickly reported to the police.
Upon the report, the DPO, Odeda Division, CSP Muhammad Baba Suleiman led detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested. On interrogation, he confessed to the commission of the crime while the victim was taken to the Federal Medical Center Abeokuta for medical examination."
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the case be transferred to Anti Human Trafficking and Chld Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for proper investigation and prosecution of the suspect. The CP therefore appealed to parents to be mindful of their children's welfare most especially as the children are just resuming to school in order to secure them from people with ulterior motives.
