Police Arrest Labourer For Robbing Supervisor

The Ogun State Police Command has announced the arrest of one Jacob Monday, a labourer in a rice plantation for armed robbery and an attempted murder.
The suspect who was arrested on the 2nd January 2018, had allegedly attacked the supervisor of the farm situated at Alabata village in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, one Monday Ale Dare when he came pay salaries of workers on December 19, 2017.
The Command's spokesman, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi stated that "the case was reported by one of the workers by name Kamoru Akanbi who complained at Owode Egba Division that their supervisor, Monday Ale Dare came to the farm to pay workers salaries, but the practice was for him to inspect each worker's portion before payment.
After inspecting Jacob's portion and paying him, the said Jacob suddenly hit him with a club on the head consequent upon which the man lost consciousness. Not satisfied with that, he further matcheted his body severally until he passed out momentarily. It was then he dispossessed him of the money meant for the salary of other workers and bolted".
Oyeyemi also stated that "having waited for the supervisor to come and inspect other workers portions endlessly, the workers went to check on him at Jacob's portion where they met the supervisor in a pool of his own blood.
On the strength of the report, the DPO Owode Egba Division, CSP Shehu Alao detailed detectives to the scene from where the victim was quickly rushed to a hospital for medical attention.
The suspect was later trailed and tracked down to Kabba in Kogi State where he was arrested and brought down to Owode Egba Division". 
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad (FSARS) for discrete investigation and prosecution.
