How Socialite, Femi Lekuti "Danku" Died 2 Weeks After Dad's Burial

In terms of glamour and style, Femi "Danku" Lekuti was one of the most famous men-about town in his hey days, from London to Ibadan and even parts of the Lagos social establishment. Back in the 1990s, he was the darling of Fuji musicians, thanks to his ability to spray money in high denominations.
All that will however not happen again as Danku passed on in the early hours of Friday. He gave up on his way to the University College Hospital where he was referred to from a private hospital in the Oke Ado area of Ibadan. 

The last many heard about the sociable big boy was that he suffered a stroke lat year. The story then was that he survived the stroke and people looked forward to seeing the ever bubbly Lekuti back on his feet.
The sickness to which he eventually succumbed started in 2010, though he recovered and tried managing his blood pressure which had by then become very high. and led to a stroke. 
Shortly after his separation from Yemisi, his wife, who bore him Dupe, Imole and Seun in London, "Danku Baba Imole", as Femi was fondly called relocated to Nigeria where he tried unsuccessfully to maintain a low profile.
Putting the pains of the divorce behind him, he started a new life and married Patience, an elegant Edo lady, who bore him Oyinkan, Gbemileke, Omowonuola and Anjola.  
The Anchor Online's checks revealed that the last official outing he attended was his dad's funeral in Abeokuta on January 27th. 
Danku, a member of Nigeria's Los Angeles '84 Olympic contingent was abandoned by almost all his friends and the only people beside him when he passed on were his wife, Pat and Baby, one of his close aides.  He was 51.
