PDP Congratulates Osun NUJ

The
Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has congratulated the newly elected executives of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Osun state council. 
The party in a release issued in Osogbo by its spokesperson, Prince Diran Odeyemi, described the successful conduct of elections of both the State Council and that of Correspondents' Chapel of NUJ in the state as "exemplary".

The PDP, while congratulating Comrades Abiodun Olalere and Boladale Bamigbola, who were both elected chairman and secretary respectively of Osun state Council of the NUJ, noted the valuable contributions of newsmen in the state towards ensuring free and fair elections.
It then promised to continue to collaborate with the journalists and even every interested individuals and groups to strengthen democratic processes and promote rule of law, regardless the risk such may portend for personal safety of members of the party.
The statement also congratulated Prince Hammeed Oyegbade and his team on their emergence as the new executives of the Correspondents' Chapel of Osun NUJ, charging them to always discharge their duties without fear or favour.
"We in Osun PDP celebrate Osun Council of NUJ for laying good examples with the peaceful conduct of its election which returned Comrade Abiodun Olalere as chairman and also saw the emergence of Boladale Bamigbola as secretary. The newsmen have proven they don't just write but they also put into practice what they preach".
Osun PDP then advised "those working against peaceful democratic processes to learn from how press men comport themselves during their election and cease to be cog in the wheel of democracy," the statement concluded.
