Kogi Assembly Speaker Impeached!

Barely 24 hours after the state's Governor-elect received his certificate of return, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Momoh Jimoh Lawal was impeached on Thursday.
The Anchor Online  gathered that 17 out of the 25 members of the House moved against the Speaker.
Incidentally, Hon Momoh, who got to know about the impeachment plot just before it blew open made moves to forestall it. In order to prevent his removal,he adjourned sitting till February 2, 2016 while his loyalists took the mace away.

The 17 anti-Momoh lawmakers would however have none of that as they moved to another location where they rounded off the impeachment process.
he 17 lawmakers who were bent on removing the Speaker, relocated from the complex to another location where they completed the impeachment process. Others affected by the shake up include the Deputy Speaker and the Minority Leader.
Hon. Godwin Osiyi representing Ogori-magongo subsequently elected as the new Speaker while Hon. John Abah from Ibaji became the Deputy Speaker while Hon. James Eneche from Olamaboro was elected as the new Minority Leader.
