How APC Guber Candidate, Abubakar Audu Died

The whole country was shocked to hear the news of the death of Prince Abubakar Audu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Saturday's governorship election on Sunday afternoon.
The Anchor Online gathered that Audu, the first Executive Governor of the state has complained of stomach cramps on Saturday evening only to suffer a stoke early on Sunday morning. It was also gathered that his condition worsened around 10 am as the election was declared inconclusive.

His opponent and sitting Governor, Captain Idris Wada has described Audi's death as a "personal loss". He has also declared a period of mourning for the former Governor.
Audu, an accomplished banker, who rose to the position of General Manage in Fist Bank, contested in every governorship election held in Kogi State till date, emerging as Governor first in November, 1991, three months after the creation of Kogi State. He was sworn in as Governor in January 1992 as the Babangida administration started its botched transition programme.
Six years after he was sacked in 1993, Audu again won the governorship election and became the first man to rule Kogi twice.
His death has ended the expectation that he would break the record and rule Kogi State for a third time.
