Senate confirms Ngige, Fashola, others as ministers

The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the nomination of former Anambra State Governor, Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige, former Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola and the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu as ministers of the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The confirmation came after the nominees had answered questions from Senators.

Others also confirmed include Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, Barrister Solomon Dalong, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Chief Audu Ogbeh and Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu. The nominations of Dr. Osagie Ehaneri, Lt. Gen Abdulrahman Dambazzau, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Engr. Suleiman Hassan Adamu, Mr. Usman Ibrahim Jubril, Abubakar Malami, SAN, Senator Aisha Jumai Alhassan and Senator Hadina Sirika were also confirmed.
The screening of former Rivers State Governor, Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was deferred till Thursday. Barrister Adebayo Shittu from Oyo State is also expected to be screened on Thursday.
