PDP Lampoons Solanke, Sagay For Supporting Aregbesola

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has dismissed claims by Chief Mrs. Folake Solanke, S.A.N. and Professor Itse Sagay S.A.N. regarding the petition written by Justice Oloyede Folahanmi, saying with their position on the matter, they only got briefed by Governor Aregbesola.
The party in a counter statement signed by Prince Diran Odeyemi, its Director of Publicity and Strategy, said from the statement credited to Solanke and Sagay, "they only spoke the minds of Aregbesola and his friends that assisted him to siphon public funds in Osun State.

"Definitely, they are not speaking the minds of Osun people, whose lives and businesses have been destroyed by the present administration. Oloyede, in her petition spoke the minds of Osun people.
"Why are the mourners crying more than the bereaved, if underhand dealings had not taken place? When was the last time these people visited Osun? What exactly is their interest in this matter?
"We want to remind these Aregbesola's counsel that no one is protesting against the petition written by Justice Oloyede because the judge spoke their minds. And if they are not satisfied with her position, we want to inform them that being an indigene confers right on Oloyede to take position on any issue concerning Osun. Being a judge is just a privilege.
"If they are truly interested in helping Aregbesola, they should assist him to redirect some of the stolen public monies back to the state's coffers or better still lend him money to pay workers accumulated 8 months salaries his administration owes them."
Odeyemi went on that "the decadence of moral uprightness in every sector of Nigeria society to see the truth and say the truth has again been brought to public limelight by a press statement jointly issued by Mrs Folake Solanke and Prof Itse Sagay"
"While trying to condemn the petition of Justice Oloyede against Governor Aregbesola, they committed more blunder by constituting themselves as a competent court passing judgement on  Justice Oloyede."
"We believe that the two eminent lawyers are acting the scripts of APC and wonder why they are arguing their brief from Gov Aregbesola in the press rather than the NJC or the courts."
The party also stated that "we want the two legal luminaries to know that posterity will not forgive whoever knows the truth but because of selfish interest decided to support evil. While Justice Oloyede as an indigenous Osun eminent citizen is championing the course of the oppressed masses of the state, both Sagay and Solanke are working on Aregbesola's brief for their personal gains. We condemn their interference and support the action of Justice Oloyede".
