Stop Patronizing Illegal Motor Parks, Ogun Police Warn

The Ogun State Police Command has warned the general public against patronising illegal or unapproved parks and garages within the state.

The warning came via a statement signed by the PRO of the Command, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, a copy of which was made available to The Anchor Online. The command "deemed it necessary to sound this note of warning due to some intelligence and  concluded investigation on reports of some cases of rape, armed robbery and missing persons reported to the police in the state.

The police command has been able to deduce from it's reports that there is a strong link between the commission of some of these crimes and the patronage of these unapproved parks, particularly those individuals who are fond of getting "free ride" by the road side or looking for "cheap ride"along the road.

The command had recently arrested and investigated some serial rapists, who have made their gimmicks of picking people by the road side, raping and robbing them of their belongings before they  would drop them off their cars,on high speed, in most cases. They have been charged to court accordingly after the police had got credible and substantive evidence against them.

The victims of these above-stated criminal acts or related crimes,in most cases, fall within the categories of those who are actually looking for "cheap ride, free ride" or patronizing illegal or unapproved parks, either within or outside Ogun State".

The statement also read that "the command therefore wishes to appeal to the general public to always patronize government approved parks and garages in all the zones  of Ogun State such as Kuto parks in Abeokuta,, Isale Oko park in Sagamu, Ibadan and Lagos parks in Ijebu and other parks in Yewa and Awori zones of the state.
The command is working assiduously with the state government to form a team to champion the fight against these illegal or unapproved parks within Ogun state ,and put an end to those "Emergency Parks"or "Deadly Parks" along our major highways in Ogun state as this will definitely assist the police in its fight against missing persons and other social vices".
