Ekiti Factional Speaker Appears with Mace, Calls for Omirin's Arrest

The Ekiti State political situation took another turn on Friday when factional Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon.Dele Olugbemi addressed newsmen in Ado Ekiti. He described the letter written to the Chief Justice of the state as 'null and void and of no effect".
Hon Olugbemi who was flanked by the PDP members of the House said  "I, Dele Olugbemi, the Speaker of Ekiti State House did not write the State Chief Judge to constitute impeachment panel to probe Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayo Fayose.

Hon Adewale Omirin who wrote the letter is an impersonator who the law enforcement agencies should arrest and be prosecuted. He was impeached last November and had since gone to court to challenge his impeachment.
According to the law, impeachment process must commence, take place within the hallowed chamber of the particular state assembly.
No such exercise took place in the hallowed chamber of Ekiti State House of Assembly where I am the Speaker.
Therefore, what Omirin and his co-travellers had done is null and void and of no effect."

Meanwhile, the Omirin faction had gone ahead to write a letter to the Chief Judge to constitute a panel that will investigate allegations levelled against the Governor.
Omirin, backed by 18 members was sacked by 7 members of the assembly.
