Buhari Gets Certificate of Return, Promises to Tackle Corruption



Nigeria’s President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, has received a Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The Certificate of Return was handed over to General Buhari and the vice president-elect, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday by INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega.

General Buhari won a keenly contested presidential election by defeating the incumbent President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
In his acceptance speech, Buhari, who said “change has finally come”, pointed out that there will no longer be a ruling party, but a governing party. He promised to start work by tackling insurgency which has had adverse effects on the country over the past five years. He also promised to tackle corruption.
