Akwa Ibom Poll: 10 Corpers, Soldier Arrested in NYSC DG's Home!

No fewer than 10 youth corps members and a soldier were arrested at the home of a retired General and former NYSC Director, Gen. Edet Akpan, by men of the Department of Security Service for electoral offences in Akwa Ibom State during the conduct of the governorship and state House of Assembly elections.

The state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barr Austin Okojie confirmed the incident while taking a break from the election to brief the press in Uyo, the state capital.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr. Kayode Idowu also confirmed the development as he concurred that some irregularities were witnessed in Akwa Ibom State during the elections.
