Buhari Warns Supporters Against Wild Celebrations

The winner of the 2015 presidential election, General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress has warned the party's members against molesting opponents while celebrating his success at the polls.
The warning was contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday and signed by Mallam Garba Shehu, the Director Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation.

According to the statement, anybody happy with the victory of the APC in the presidential election will not be involved in the molestation of opponents or the destruction of their property.
General Buhari was quoted as saying that Nigerians have chosen him and his party through their votes, and that they should remain calm.
It was also contained in the statement that the party declared victory after President Goodluck Jonathan called Buhari at 5:15 p.m.
The mood of the country as well as its current state does not warrant the type of wild celebrations reportedly going on in some cities across the country. Anybody happy with the victory of the APC in the presidential election will not be involved in the molestation of opponents or the destruction of their property. He or she is not with me, whoever does that,” Buhari said.
