45 people at the Monday Market in Maiduguri, the market was hit again by another round of explosions on Monday.
The first explosion was detonated by a woman who reportedly approached the section where chicken is sold in the market with a bag in her hand. Witnesses said she was accosted by local security who insisted on checking her bag. She however refused and made a scene. The bomb reportedly went off as people gathered to find out what was happening. Scores of people are believed to have died.
Minutes after the explosion, a second blast went off. Someone who went to the NTA station
opposite the market disclosed that the second bomb was hurled from a moving mini-van.
Meanwhile, earlier on Monday, members of the Boko Haram terrorist group attacked Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
