Alison-Madueke is New OPEC President!

Nigeria's Petroleum Resources Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, on Thursday emerged the new President of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. She is the first woman to be elected president of OPEC.

54-year-old Alison-Madueke, who was elected at the 166th General Meeting of the body in Vienna, Austria will lead the organization for one year.
She replaces Libya’s Vice Prime Minister for Corporations, Abdourhman Atahar Al-Ahirish.
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC has confirmed the development.
Mrs. Madueke emerged at a period when oil prices suffered a drop in the world market.
