Musa's Brace Keeps Eagles Hope Alive

Ahmed Musa grabbed a brace as Nigeria's Super Eagles beat their counterparts from Sudan by 3 goals to 1 at the National Stadium, Abuja on Wednesday.
The Eagles had lost by a lone goal to the Sudanese four days before.
Wednesday's match was however a different kettle of fish as the Eagles lived up to the billing as African champions and grabbed their first win in the Maroc 2015 qualifiers.
John Obi Mikel who had been at the receiving end of criticisms was up and doing as he gave some directions to the midfield. He was instrumental to the opening goal scored by Ahmed Musa.
Mikel showed some flashes of his old self as he took responsibilities and even made daring incursions into the Sudanese area. His command of the midfield was commendable.
Three minutes after Musa scored however, the Sudanese leveled up, giving the Eagles something to worry about. Aaron Samuel scored the second goal while Musa took the game beyond the reach of the Sudanese with his brilliantly executed second goal. He took on a defender and after beating him, he sent another onrushing Sudanese the wrong way before placing a shot that beat the Sudanese keeper.
With the win, Nigeria climbs to the third position.
