Brazil's Soccer Stars, Romario & Bebeto Elected into Parliament

Romario and Bebeto, two members of Brazil's gold-winning team to the 1994 World Cup in USA were elected into the country's parliament in Saturday's election.
Romario de Souza Faria, 48, who was a deputy in the lower house was elected as Senator for Rio de Janeiro on the platform of the Socialist Party. He won 63% of the votes cast.
His former teammate and strike partner, Bebeto was elected as a state deputy.

Romario who was the arrowhead of Brazil's strike force at the 1994 World Cup played for clubs like PSV Eindhoven, FC Bracelona, Vasco da Gama and Flamengos. His playing career spanned close to 25 years. Bebeto on the other hand played for Deportiva la Coruna as well as Vasco and Flamengos. He was first elected in 2010 on the platform of the Democratic Labour Party.
