Amosun Visits Damaged Ogun Police HQ

. Commiserates with officers

The Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has sympathized with the state police command and victims of Sunday's rain storm that damaged some offices and barracks in Eleweran Abeokuta,the command's headquarters.


The Governor,who visited and inspected the affected areas in Eleweran on Tuesday,in company of the Commissioner for Environment Hon Ayo Olubori,the security consultant to the Governor, CP Olayinka Balogun(rtd),Commissioner for Special Duties,Hon Olu Adeyemi and many others,was received by the Commissioner of Police Ogun State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye and his Management Team and conducted round the police community to assess the extent of damage.

The Governor described the incident as unfortunate and directed that relief materials be released immediately to assist the affected victims,while he directed the Commissioner for Environment to come with another team of experts to assess the damage and come up with the estimate with a view to starting rehabilitation of the offices and some affected buildings in the barracks.

Senator Ibikunle Amosun appreciated the efforts of the police command in many areas and the present administration of the police in Nigeria for their current reform agenda to have effective policing of the country. He also reiterated his supports for the command in all areas.

The Commissioner of Police in his words of appreciation commended the Governor for coming down to assess the damage himself,that it goes a long way to show the Governor's love for mankind. CP Okoye then assured the Governor that every item released will be shared and used judiciously for the relief of the victims of the storm.

The Commissioner of police also seized the opportunity to relay the message of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, to the affected personnel,and assured them of adequate support from the Force headquarters Abuja.

Meanwhile, the commissioner for Environment Hon Ayo Olubori,with the team of State Emergency Management Agency,has donated some relief materials to include mattresses,pillows,roofing sheets,nails and the like to the command as directed by the Governor on Tuesday. The items were received on behalf of the Commissioner of Police by the Second in Command DCP Haliru Gwandu at the command headquarters Eleweran Abeokuta.


The Commissioner of Police was full of thanks to those who sympathized with the command on the incident,for their love and supports. He prayed that God will grant everyone peace in all aspects of life.
