Man, 25, Arrested for Defiling 3-Year-Old Girl in Ogun

The Police Operatives attached to Ayetoro Division of the Ogun State police Command have arrested one Kayode Akanni,25, of Pedepo Village via Ohunbe Ogun State for defiling a 3-year old girl on Monday 15th September 2014.
The parents of the v
ictim reported the case to the police when they noticed that there were injuries on the toddler. The police arrested the suspect eventually.
During police interrogation, it was discovered that the suspect tricked the young and innocent girl nto his room by telling her to bring to him a bunch of keys outside the room and had unlawful carnal knowledge of the little girl.
Ogun Police Command's spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi disclosed that the suspect has confessed to the crime,while the victim has been taken to hospital for treatment and for getting medical report of the case.
The Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Ikemefuna Okoye has ordered the case be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation Eleweran Abeokuta for thorough investigation.
The Commissioner of Police condemned the act and promised to carry out thorough investigation and perfect prosecution of the matter as such will deter people from engaging in such barbaric act. He stated further that the command will always put in place measures that will reduce crimes and social vices to their barest minimum; and urged parents to keep watch on their children and wards.
