Court Stops Medical Panel from Probing Suntai

Those hoping to see the Governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Suntai appear before a medical panel may have to wait a while longer as a High Court sitting in Jalingo, on Tuesday stopped a probe panel set up by the state's House of Assembly from going ahead.

An exparte motion had been filed on the Governor's behalf by Alex Izinyon.
The court based its order on the premise that a case relating to the office of the governor is already before the Supreme Court.
Suntai's health has been a matter of public debate since October 2012 when a plane he piloted crashed. Governor Suntai
had been a patient in hospitals in Germany and the United States.
