2027: Tinubu Hosts Lagos, Oyo APC Stakeholders

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently convened a series of strategic meetings with All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship and senatorial candidates, alongside key party stakeholders from Lagos and Oyo States, at his Lagos residence.

Sources disclosed that the sessions underscored the President’s commitment to strengthening party cohesion, reviewing primary election outcomes, and refining strategies ahead of forthcoming elections.

A high-powered delegation from Oyo State, led by APC Chairman Moses Adeyemo, governorship candidate Senator Sharafadeen Alli, and senatorial candidates, formally briefed the President on the outcomes of their primaries. The team reaffirmed the party’s determination to reclaim Oyo State, emphasizing unity and grassroots mobilization as central to their campaign. President Tinubu assured them of his unwavering strategic support, pledging to work closely with the state leadership to ensure electoral success.

The President relatedly met with Lagos APC leaders, including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat. The Lagos delegation formally presented the results of the party’s governorship primaries and discussed strategies to consolidate APC’s dominance in the state. President Tinubu went on to commend their efforts and reiterated the importance of maintaining internal harmony and delivering on the party’s promises to the people of Lagos.

Apart from reflecting President Tinubu’s hands-on approach to party management, the meetings signalled his determination to foster unity and strengthen APC’s electoral machinery across states ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Party sources have stated that by engaging directly with candidates and stakeholders, the President aims to ensure that the party enters the upcoming elections with clarity of purpose, cohesion, and a stronger pace.
