Ramadan: Sarumi Aliyu admonishes Muslims to pray for Allah's intervention

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Diaspora, Hon. Bolanle Sarumi Aliyu has admonished Oyo State Muslim faithfuls in the Diaspora to pray for Allah's intervention over the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the face of resilient efforts by the state government to halt the disease outbreak.


Sarumi  Aliyu said the sacred month of Ramadan is a period for Muslims to draw closer to God, stressing on the need to make critical behavioural changes during this year’s fast in the face of COVID-19 challenge. According to the PDP stalwart, “As Muslim faithfuls across the world commence the Ramadan, I urge us to uphold the hallmarks of the period, which include commitment to family, faith and community"

“I implore our brothers and sisters in the Diaspora to adhere to the hygiene and safety precautions to check the spread of COVID-19, including regular handwashing under running water and use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers, wearing of facemasks when in public, observe social distancing and stay at home except if on essential duties"

Sarumi Aliyu counseled that the Ramadan period should be used to pray to the Almighty Allah to continue to direct and guide Governor Seyi Makinde to continue to do His will.
