Police Chief Donates Relief Materials, Educates Less Privileged on COVID-19

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Operations, DIG Abdulmajid Ali, on Thursday, toed the line of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration and other philanthropists by giving out palliatives worth more than N 1.5 million to vulnerable people at Lugbe in the Federal Capital Territory.

The police chief who derives pleasure in putting smiles on the faces of Nigerians and adding value to mankind, runs a Non-Governmental Organisation named MJ Foundation, which has many orphanages in Kotangora, Niger State and some parts of the country, and has been awarding scholarships, providing healthcare services and different forms of empowerment to many Nigerians over the past decade.
The relief items which were shared amidst COVID-19 preventive measures by immediate members of the Deputy Inspector-General's staff led by his philanthropic and kind-hearted wife, Hajiya Idiat Ali, included rice, beans, beverages, fruits and clothing items.
The police boss seized the opportunity to educate and appeal to residents of Lugbe are of theFCT and other Nigerians that "COVID-19 is real and every Nigerian should collaborate with the Federal Government and governments at all levels to fight the pandemic which is inimical to our existence and national development". He further felicitated the Islamic faithful on the Ramadan month and prayed that the Almighty Allah (SWT) heals Nigeria of the pandemic.
