COVID-19: Gov Makinde Recovers, Tests Negative

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Sunday confirmed that two tests conducted on him have shown that he no longer has the COVID-19 virus.

Late in the night, the Governor tweeted "I am deeply moved  by your prayers and support throughout this period. I am so thankful. This evening I received my second negative test for COVID-19. I especially thank Prof Temitope Alonge, who acted In my stead as Head of the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force".
The Governor had gone on self-isolation after he tested positive for the virus last week.
Individuals and groups called for prayers against the spread of the disease in the state  and for his recovery.
As of the time of filing this report, a total of mine cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Oyo State. The Chief Medical Director of the University College Hospital, Prof Jesse Otegbayo and Governor Makinde have since recovered.
