The popular online medium, Ibadan Media, has perfected plans
to stage another edition of the much anticipated awards tagged ‘60 Most
Influential Bands & People in 2019'. This was disclosed to newsmen in
Ibadan by the chairman of the media the outfit, Olanrewaju Ola where he
unveiled the plans for the Award event that has entered its third edition.
"In the year 2017, we started this laudable initiative
by appreciating some selected people who have been trying on their own to make
things happen in the city of Ibadan as well as those who have been supportive
in one way or the other and some change angels behind the new city of Ibadan.
We presented a special photo gallery of the 50 most influential youths in the
city of Ibadan in December 2017”, Ola said.
He also said “2018 was another remarkable year, as we
improved on the influential lists based on some concerned people’s criticism
and comments, we enriched the list with more value-added people, we offered
another special photo gallery of the 60 Greatest Influential Personalities in
The City of Ibadan with an awards presentation. The event, which was held at
Plat’num Club, Bodija, Ibadan, early this year had many notable personalities
in attendance”.
Ola assured that this year's edition will be another talk of
the town event as names of companies and brands are being compiled for the
latest list of the most influential brands and personalities. “Of course, only
60 of them can be chosen but certainly, all are worthy", Ola said.
The Ibadan Media CEO also explained that the team of
professionals that constituted the selection committee are carefully working on
the shortlisting of the 60 recipients, that are expected to draw from diverse
field of endeavours basically from the city of Ibadan.
He pointed out that various categories including Music and
Entertainment, Politics, Business and Entrepreneurs’, Sports, Journalists and
Media, Influencers and Contributors to the growth of the City, and NGOs would
be covered. He went on to disclose that different people from those categories
will be awarded on December 15th.
“As it is now, we cannot know everybody or have the records
of some of the people affecting the society positively. To this end, we implore
the general public to start the nomination of different people in different
categories by sending names, some information about the person’s influence to

Instagram”, Ola stressed.
He also revealed a new twist will be introduced in the 2019
edition as a fashion show will be part of the programme. He extended an
invitation to people in the fashion industry to register to be part of the
fashion show.
