As part of his efforts to support the present administration
in Oyo State in making education accessible for all and sundry, Arc. Hassan
Olawale Giwa has distributed customized notebooks to all students in three
government owned primary and secondary schools within Lagelu Local Government.
During the distribution of the notebooks, Giwa, who is the
Otunba of Lagun described education as “one important legacy good parents and
responsible governments should provide for their children and citizens”.
He noted that since the government alone cannot shoulder the
responsibilities attached to education, the support of well-to-do individuals
in the society is needed to fill the gap.
Arc. Giwa, a youthful entrepreneur reiterated that the only
way for the pupils to become better and responsible persons in the future is to
prioritize their studies, obey their parents and listen to their teachers.
He explained that the distribution of the customized
notebooks is part of the education support scheme of Otunba Hassan Olawale Giwa
(OHOG) Foundation to give the less privileged people hope and a sense of
belonging.
Hassan Giwa itemized the distribution of uniforms and
furniture as well as renovation of dilapidated structures as other areas where
schools within the council area have been benefitting from the OHOG Foundation
gesture.
He promised to continue to put in his effort to ensure that
the bar of education in his community, local government and beyond is raised.
Schools that benefited from the distribution of the customized
notebooks are Islamic Mission School, St. Martin's Primary School and Lagun
Community Secondary School, Lagun.
