Hit-man Arrested as Police Foil Cult Elimination Assignment in Ogun

The number of cult-related deaths in Ogun State was reduced by one as men of the Ogun State Police Command, on July 24, arrested one Biodun Adelokun, said to be a notorious member of the Black Axe Confraternity, while on his way to eliminate a member of a rival cult group in Ogijo area of the state.
In a statement signed by the Command’s spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, it was made known that “the suspect was arrested by policemen attached to Ogijo Division who were on routine patrol with the DPO, CSP Muhammed Baba. The team accosted three men on a Bajaj motorcycle with registration number KJA 778 QH at Fakale Road, Ogijo; but on sighting the policemen, the three men took to their heels and were hotly chased by the policemen”.

Oyeyemi stated that the chase proved fruitful as the officers succeeded in arresting one of them with a bag. “When the bag was searched, a locally made cut to size pistol, a live cartridge, an axe and assorted charms were discovered”.
On interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed being a member and chief executioner of the dreaded Black Axe, also known as the Aiye cult group. “He stated further that he and two others were on their way to eliminate a member of another cult group who had been earmarked for execution by his own group before he was arrested by the DPO and his men”, Oyeyemi confirmed.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bashir Makama has ordered for a massive manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang as well as thorough investigation of the case.
