Police Arrest Cultist During Attempt To Snatch Motorcycle on Easter Day

Making good the command's promise to ensure the security of lives and property during the Easter period, men of the Ogun State Police Command, on Easter Sunday, arrested one Seun Adewole while attempting to snatch a motorcycle from its owner.
According to a release signed by the Command's Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the 26-year-old suspect was arrested around 7.30 am. "His arrest followed a distress call received from Adiyan community in Agbado area of the state that two armed men were about to snatch a motorcycle from its owner. On receiving the information, the DPO Agbado division CSP Omonijo Olatunji detailed his patrol team to the scene where one of the robbers was arrested while his accomplice escaped through the nearby bush", Oyeyemi stated.
One locally made pistol, one dagger and assorted charms were recovered from the suspect who gave the name of his fleeing colleague as 'Ojo Iberu. "He equally confessed that they are members of the Black Axe Confraternity, otherwise known as 'Aye' and that they used to go into robbery whenever they run out of cash", Oyeyemi said.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bashir Makama has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS) for discrete investigation. He equally directed that the escaped suspect be hunted for and brought to justice within the shortest possible time.
