IGC Ladies Fete Oyo Governor-elect, Seyi Makinde

The Governor-elect of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has exhibited his love for the game of golf by joining the lady golfers at the prestigious Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) to celebrate the annual 2019 Ladies Open which came to an end last Sunday

Makinde who is actually a member of the IGC played nine holes non-competitive golf game on Thursday, five holes on Saturday and also graced the closing ceremony of the two-in-one event that commenced in Ibadan on Wednesday.
While addressing golfers during the dinner and closing ceremony the governor-elect restated his commitment to the activities of the club and development of golf by giving the game good attention in terms of promotion and funding when he resumes at the Agodi Government House.
The Lady Captain of IGC, Dr. Tope Farombi who welcomed Engr Makinde, his wife Mrs. Tamunomini Makinde and many chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party to the dinner thanked the newly elected governor for finding time out of his busy scheduled to felicitate with the almost 200 lady golfers that came from all walks of life to participate in the golf tournament.
She urged Mrs. Makinde to also embrace the game of golf by joining the ladies’ section of the IGC, describing golf as a good sport and a wonderful way to maintain perfect wellness and improve mental alertness.
A female police officer, Racheal Danjuma of IBB Golf Club won the first prize of the tournament with 79 gross while Evelyn Oyome emerged as the runner up, returning with 76 gross. 
The immediate past Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University College Hospital, Professor Temitope Alonge won the veteran men’s category.
