Family Fixes Temitope Sugar Olatoye's Burial For 2nd May

The family of the slain member of the Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Temitope Olatoye Sugar, has fixed May 2nd as the burial date for the remains of the deceased lawmaker. The lawmaker, who represented Akinyele/ Lagelu Federal Constituency was shot dead on March 9 during the governorship and House of Assembly elections.

The date was announced by the deceased's elder brother, Olajide Olatoye during a press conference organised by the family on Sunday at the office of the Olatoye Sugar Foundation, Bodija Ibadan.

The Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Olafisoye Akinmoyede is one of the five people being held by the police in connection with Honourable Olatoye's murder.

While urging the government and the security agents to ensure that the perpetrators of the heinous crime do not go unpunished, the family debunked reports trending on social media about Sugar's conduct while he was in Ogun State, especially one credited to his former landlady. The family urged people to treat such reports as fake news. "If my brother was a person of such a bad character as the woman tried to portray and dent his image, would he be given the title Asaaju of Osiele, Asiwaju of Gbagura, Akogun of Emere", the elder Olatoye asked rhetorically.
