Conniving Salesman Arrested For Burgling Employer's Shop

Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested Michael Daniel, a 31-year-old salesman for conniving with robbers to burgle the shop of his employer.

The command's spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi stated that "his arrest followed a complaint lodged by one Mrs Titilayo Ero of Dorf Royal Event Centre, Asero, Abeokuta who reported that she had about 52 computer monitors in her store only for her to get to the store on September 30 to discover that the store has been burgled and all the 52 computer monitors had been carted away".
Oyeyemi also stated that "on the strength of her report, detectives from the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department were detailed to unravel the mystery behind the missing items. The detectives swiftly moved into action and invited the salesman who was barely 3 weeks old in the employment of the centre. When he was thoroughly interrogated, he confessed being the brain behind the act.
He explained further that he invited one Smith Ajao, 23 to join him in the night for the operation. The said Smith Ajao was traced to a hotel in Sango Ota where he was promptly arrested. He subsequently led detectives to computer Village Ikeja Lagos where 48 pieces of the computer monitors were recovered".
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has directed that the case be properly investigated and that the suspects be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded. He advised members of public to always scrutinize whoever they want to employ properly before giving them jobs.
