Ogun Police Nab 3 Robbery Suspects in Ogijo



The Ogun State Police Command, on Sunday, announced the arrest of three suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate who have been terrorizing Ogijo and its environs for some time.

According to a statement signed by ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the command's spokesman, "the suspects were arrested at about 9 pm on Saturday, 20th January, 2018 during one of their robbery operations. Policemen attached to Ogijo Divisional Headquarters received a distress call from No.6 Baale Street, Molatori Ogijo that robbers had invaded their residence and they were being dispossessed of their belongings. Having received the distress call, the DPO, Ogijo Division, SP Tijani Mohammed led his Anti-Robbery men to the scene where they engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel. At the end of the encounter, three members of the syndicate namely; Yusuf Odugbemi, Tunde Asamu, and Sunday Azeez were arrested while others escaped".
Recovered from them are; one live cartridge, two cutlasses and assorted charms.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to FSARS for investigation with the view of arresting the fleeing members of the syndicate.
