Police Beef Up Security in Ogun Ahead of Yuletide Season

Findings have shown that the Ogun State Police Command has beefed up security across the state ahead of the forthcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations. The Command's spokesman, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed that "the step became necessary due to the peculiar nature of the state which is the host of international headquarters of many religious organizations, including religious bodies such as the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Mountain of Fire and Miracles, Living Faith Church, NASFAT, Deeper Life Bible Church,Celestial Church of Christ and many others and this will attract large number of their faithfuls to the state in order to perform one religious obligation or the other".
"In view of this, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered 24 hour surveillance around these worship houses. In addition, the CP has ordered tactical deployment of operatives both uniformed and plain cloth men across the state in order to nip in the bud any act of criminality. The CP equally directed that all Area Commanders and DPOs should be on red alert and be proactive in their fight against crime as he will not tolerate any act of indolence from any of his officers", Oyeyemi confirmed.
CP Iliyasu has also appealed to members of the public to partner with the Police by giving them useful information in order to rid the state of crime and criminality before, during and after the yuletide season.
