PDP Alleges Movement of "State Boys" From Osun to Ondo For Election

The Osun
State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on security agencies to 'monitor the movement and activities of over 150 thugs otherwise christened "state boys" by Governor Aregbesola all of who left Osogbo for Ondo state in 10 buses on Wenesday'.

The party disclosed this a statement signed by Prince Diran Odeyemi, its spokesperson in Osogbo, claiming its security department "actually monitored movement of the men who are an armed group endorsed by Governor Aregbesola".

The statement said 'members of the "State Boys" are being sent to Ondo to work for Alliance for Democracy, AD, candidate in the election, Chief Sola Oke, who is being sponsored by Governor Rauf Aregbesola'.

The PDP further alleged that "State Boys have records of killing and maiming anyone that opposes their paymaster", adding that "the same group of hoodlums was used by Aregbesola to unleash terror on members of the opposition party in 2014 during the governorship poll.

We are now telling the people in charge of security to be vigilant. The boys are already in Ondo State and they are being kept in different locations in the state.

No security agency in Osun would claim ignorance of the existence of a daredevil group called "State Boys" and their mode of operation with dangerous weapons and network especially in Osun State"

"We therefore urge security agents on ground in Ondo State to be vigilant and conduct thorough search in schools and abandoned properties to fish out those boys before they carry out their assignment on Saturday. We know what they are capable of doing and in the interest of our democracy, security operatives should act on time on this tip off," PDP concluded.
