Police Inspector Arrested for Allegedly Shooting Okada Rider Dead in Ondo

The Nigeria Police Force, on Tuesday announced the arrest of Inspector Anthony Nwadike for allegedly shooting a commercial motorcyclist to death in Ore Ondo State. 
The announcement was made by Abayomi Shogunle, an Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police in the Complaints Response Unit of the Force. 
The video of the shooting has gone viral on the internet and there were allegations that the altercation that led to the shooting stemmed from the demand for and a refusal to pay a bribe of N 50. 

ACP Shogunle gave the fact of the case as follows: 
"On 4th September, 2016 at about 6:00pm along Odigbo-Omifon road within Ore Division in Ondo State, Inspr. Anthony Nwadike who led a police patrol team on nipping point along the said road allegedly shot and killed one commercial motorcycle rider (names withheld) following an altercation. The said Inspector has since been arrested and his service riffle recovered. Case is under investigation.
The Orderly-Room trial (Departmental Court) of this arrested Inspector is expected to be concluded today Tuesday, 6th September, 2016 so as to pave way for his criminal prosecution for Murder in the law court within the next 48hrs.
The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command has since opened a direct line of communication /contact with the families of the victim and the community. The Ondo State Police Command is also providing necessary palliative to concerned relatives and persons at this period.
