Kaduna Govt Reshuffles Cabinet


The Kaduna State Government has announced a reassignment of portfolios in the State Executive Council.
A government statement indicated that the changes in the state cabinet involves four ministries.
“Professor Jonathan Andrew Nok, erstwhile Commissioner of Health and Human Services, is assuming responsibilities as Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology. A laureate of the National Merit Award, Professor Nok is a distinguished scientist. He has led the public health system to remarkable strides in recent months. Under his leadership; the Kaduna State health team won two consecutive first prizes in the Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) week. Professor Nok also led the team to win MTN funding for the maternity wards of five general hospitals. He was especially vigorous about modernizing the Primary Health Centres in state. Professor Nok is taking the same dynamism and leadership to his new assignment.

“MalamShehu Balarabe, is moving from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, to take charge of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.
“Dr. Shehu Usman Adamu, former Commissioner of Education, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism. Under his watch, the government started the rehabilitation of schools, the provision of furniture and the school feeding programme for primary school pupils.
“To fill the vacancy in the Ministry of Health and Human Services, the Governor has nominated Dr. Paul Manya Dogo as the new Commissioner. His name will be forwarded to the Kaduna State House of Assembly for confirmation. Dr. Dogo, a former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, is currently Chief Resident Consultant at the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital.
“Dr. Yau Idris, the former Commissioner of Environment,has returned to the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Agency. The governor has thanked Dr. Idris for his services to Kaduna State.”
