Ogun Police Recover Hijacked Fuel Tanker, Arrest Suspects in Edo

 Police Operatives attached to Iperu Division of the Ogun State Police  Command have arrested some suspects who hijacked a truck,with registration number  AKD 711 XM,loaded with 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) at Mallo Filling Station along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway around 5.30 am on 12th February 2016.

According to DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the Command's spokesman, "the suspects who operated in one SUV used the vehicle to cross the driver of the truck and hijacked the truck with its content,drove to Okada in Edo State. The Police operatives swung into action immediately the report was made at Iperu Division and traced the truck to Okada,Edo State,where it was recovered with the product".

Adejobi disclosed to The Anchor Online that "one of the hijackers,Omoruyi Nathaniel,was arrested with the receiver,Mrs Adeyemi Adeyoyiosola and the suspects have been taken to the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Eleweran Abeokuta for investigation and prosecution."

The Commissioner of Police Ogun State,CP Abdulmajid Ali, commended the Police operatives for the professional operation carried out and reinstated the command's commitment to tackle such crime and other criminal activities in Ogun State.

While condemning hijacking of trucks with goods,the Police boss ordered the Divisional Police Officers along the ever-busy Lagos/Ibadan and Lagos/Benin expressways in Ogun State to brace up and go after hoodlums who embarrass and rob road users along the expressways.

CP  Ali also directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence,DCP Shina Olukolu,to personally supervise the investigation as the Command will leave no stone unturned in making sure that criminals don't go unpunished in the state.
