The panel of the Appellate Court that sat in Abuja to hear the appeal on the Akwa Ibom State governorship election, on Friday sacked Gover Emmanuel Udom.
The five-member panel of the court held that Udom's election as governor was not in conformity with the electoral act.
The ruling went in favour of the All Progressives Congress candidate , Umana Okon Umana, who had challenged the election of Udom, fielded by the Peoples Democratic Party.
The court held that the election was fraught with irregularities including over-voting in all the local government areas of the state.
