Photos from the bank robbery in Agbara Industrial Estate

No fewer than 5 commercial banks were raided in Agbara, Ogun State on Thursday morning. As customers and bank staff contemplated opening for the business of the day, daredevil armed robbers who had perfected plans to cart away money from the banks struck. The operation lasted for about 2 hours.
After the raid on banks that included GT, Zenith and some others, the robbers left blood in their trail as they shot sporadically for most of the duration of their operation. .
The Anchor Online gathered that the robbers were confronted by policemen and many people got injured as a result of the exchange of gunfire.

The management of Agbara Industrial Estate issued a statement after the robbery which it said was the first in the estate's 37 years of existence. Below is the text of the statement:
“At about 7am on the morning of November 19, 2015, there was an organised armed robbery on Agbara Estate, the first to its kind in the Estate’s 37-year history.”
“The target of the attack was Zenith Bank on Bank Road, where the vault and various ATMs were looted. There are two fatalities reported (two police guards at the bank).”
 “Agbara Estates is carrying out an immediate review of its security operations and is collaborating with the local authorities and police force to prevent any such incident happening again on the Estate.”
The Anchor Online's efforts to reach the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi proved futile as he did not answer calls put through to his line as of the time of filing this report.
