The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has urged the
newly appointed Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, not to see
himself as minister of Osun APC, but as a professional chosen to salvage
the nation's health sector.
This
was contained in a statement issued in Osogbo by Osun State PDP
spokesperson Prince Diran Odeyemi, who said party affiliation apart,
Adewole has necessary qualities to revive the hailing nation's health
sector.
The
PDP said from his antecedents, the former Vice Chancellor, University
of Ibadan, is a thorough bred professional with wide range experience
that can return glory days to Nigeria's health sector.
It however warned the minister to always see himself as representing all the people of Osun and not a section or party.
The
statement reads: " we are aware of the opposition Prof. Adewole faced from
members of APC before he eventually scaled the hurdle and became
minister.
"We
hope he has learnt from his travails in the hands of this particular
set of people and we in PDP implore him to strive to be a good
representative of Osun in the federal cabinet and never to allow few
selfish ones that opposed his emergence to hijack and make him see
others that do not belong to their fold as enemies."
"We
congratulate and wish him a successful tenure of office. We also pledge
out support whenever such is requested to assist the him in his critical
assignment."
