The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has again accused Governor
Rauf Aregbesola of "insincerity" regarding the planned flag off of
the rehabilitation of Odi Olowo/ Ita Olokan Road.
This
position, according to the PDP spokesperson, Prince Diran Odeyemi, in a
statement he issued in Osogbo, was based on the fact that money has
always been allocated to the same Odi Olowo road for the past 3 years in
the state budget with no serious job done.
The
statement reads: "why reconstructing Odi Olowo road, every year and
what has happened to the money allocated to it every year. From 2012, Odi Olowo Road has continued to be in the budget, yet nothing was done on the road"
"In 2013 and 2014, the same road was
in the budget, contractors were paid and yet no serious work was done.
We believe flag off of renovation of the road is another avenue to make
noise and after that spend the money on frivolity All these have exposed
Governor Aregbesola as a clueless Governor.
"People
are dying of hunger daily, workers are not paid, contractors are not
paid and yet, Mr. Aregbesola wants to commence doing another
reconstruction that will join the list of abandoned projects in the
state.
"We
as a party believe the welfare of the people of the state through
prompt payment of their salaries should be paramount to a serious Governor
than the jamboree of a road reconstruction", the party concluded.
