New Ooni to wait as Ife's most senior kingmaker dies!

The revered but vacant throne of the Ooni of Ife might have to wait a while longer to be filled, no thanks to the demise of the second-in-command to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Solomon Omisakin.
Oba Omisakin, the Obalufe was until his transition the head of kingmakers in Ile Ife.
His death has slowed down the ongoing selection process being carried out and it may take some weeks before the process can continue as the ancient town has commenced another round of mourning.

The late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, for whom a successor is being sought, joined his ancestors in July.
The place of the late Obalufe at Iremo Quarters in Ile Ife became a beehive of activities as mourners trooped in to pay their respect to the departed kingmaker on Thursday.
