Mum Kills 3 Sons Because Husband 'Didn't Love Daughter As Much'

A mother has confessed to killing her three young sons over the last 13 months because her husband was ignoring their daughter, authorities have said.
Brittany Pilkington, 23, is accused of the murder of her three-month-old son Noah on Tuesday, and over the deaths of four-year-old Gavin in April and three-month-old Niall in July last year.
Police officers went to the family's apartment in Bellefontaine, Ohio, on Tuesday morning after a 911 call by Pilkington saying that Noah was not breathing.
They said she answered a dispatcher's questions calmly while a baby's sleep apnea alarm beeped in the background.

Noah was prounced dead at a hospital.

Logan County prosecutor William Goslee said she confessed to killing her sons by placing a blanket over their heads and suffocating them.
He told The Columbus Dispatch: "In her mind, she was protecting her daughter from being not as loved as the boys were by their father."
Their daughter, three, was taken into custody by a county child welfare agency.

Authorities were already investigating the deaths of Niall and Gavin. The boys' father, Joseph Pilkington, found both unresponsive when he returned home from work.
A cause of death for both boys has not yet been determined.
Bellefontaine Police Chief Brandon Standley said in a statement: "The tragic deaths of Niall, Gavin and Noah leave a pit in our stomachs today.
"Our condolences go out to the remaining family members who have supported this family through a very difficult 13 months."
Pilkington's uncle, Joe Skaggs, said Noah and his sister had been placed with Logan County Children's Services after Gavin's death, and were only returned to their parents this month.
He told The Columbus Dispatch: "Why would you give them back after a little boy just died and when you're in the middle of an investigation?"
