Super Falcons' Media Officer, Gracious Akujobi Dies


 
The Media Officer of Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons has died. Until her demise on Wednesday night, Gracious Akujobi was a member of staff of PNO Dynamic Media Limited, Publishers of Prompt News Online.
 Akeem Oyetunji, the Publisher of Prompt News Online confirmed that Akujobi was on a national assignment as Super Falcons Media officer when she passed away on Wednesday night in Abuja.
She had joined the team and other officials in camp on Tuesday night ahead of the team’s Olympics Games qualifier against the Equatorial Guinea.

While reacting to the sad occurrence, Mrs. Dilichukwu Onyedinma, the Head, Women’s Committee and Deputy Chair of the Committee for Ethics and Fair Play of the Nigerian Football Federation said “I was at the hospital. I went there immediately they called. I saw the body and I was there when they confirmed at the hospital that she was gone’’.
She went on that “her colleagues searched her room, we also called the hotel management to request for CCTV footage which they played for us in the presence of her brother, police officials and some staff of the FA. The security aspect of it has been cleared and I am sure they will soon come up with their report”.
She described the late Imo State born sports journalist as “a friendly person who did her job. She was someone who never looked for trouble”. She concluded that “God knows best”.
