Gardener Jailed For Killing Ducklings!

A Florida gardener who ran over a mother duck and her 11 ducklings with a lawnmower as a family that was feeding the birds watched in horror has been sentenced to a year in prison.

Jason Falbo was jailed after pleading guilty to nine counts of felony animal cruelty charges at Palm Beach County court.
The 24-year-old mowed down the ducks on 2 May at the home of a family caring for them in Wellington, south Florida.
Nine ducklings were killed, including two who escaped into a lake with their mother, but drowned.

The mother and two other ducklings survived.

The family says the ducklings were just a few days old.
Boyd Jentzsch told police his family, including his seven-year-old son, watched from inside their home, screaming as the ducks were run over.
Mr Jentzsche said that when he ran outside to confront Falbo the landscaper smiled, reversed the mower and ran over the ducklings again.
Falbo pleaded guilty last week to domestic battery in an unrelated incident about a month before the duckling deaths.
